Houstonian Kenny Thompson is the founder of Feed the Future Forward, a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring every student is fed well while at school. Thompson became aware of the issue when one of the several students he mentors was served a cold cheese sandwich at an elementary school in Spring Branch ISD because his parents were not able to pay his lunch account balance. Kenny began his journey by paying off negative lunch account balances at that one school and has since started a movement that has spread to multiple school districts throughout Texas.
The Rosas crossed paths with Kenny and after hearing the stories of children being denied lunch, our AFG family wanted to help! In June, we held car wash at our Houston-area Twin Peaks and raised almost $3,000 in just a few hours!! Thanks to the Twin Peaks Girls and our great management team, many kids will receive a hot lunch this coming school year!
